Located at the southern part of Ao Phra Nang. From the shore, you can see the white sand beach and many kinds of coral because the sea in this area is very clear. This's very attractive for tourists which they can visit here for almost year long.

Formerly, local people calls this island as "Pu Lao Phi Ar Phi". Pu Lao means "Island", Phi Ar Phi" means a kind of sea tree likes samae then calls it as "Ton Phi Phi" and finally it would be pronouced as "Ko Phi Phi " which consists of 6 islands : Phi Phi Don island, Phi Phi Le island, Phi Da Nok island, Phi Da Nai island, Yoong island, Mai Pai island which far from Krabi coast about 42 kilometers. The gulf of this island looks like the half-circle shape surrounded by a vertical height limestone mountain, likely to be the inside sea or so called "Philei". Koh Maipai is another island which has a beautiful beach and varieties of coral of Krabi province.
